Remove and retain the strip of tape, and carefully unscrew the two halves of the lens. This gets you access to the main mirrors.
I am uncertain how to remove the small forward mirror/lens assembly that is mounted in the front of the main element, but I want to do so, therefore I am looking for mechanical diagrams/component schematics of this lens.. if anyone knows where I could get these I would really appreciate it.BETLOGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01329260189629633929noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1391120870840685325.post-82982062693225740802009-11-20T00:30:56.815-08:002009-11-20T00:30:56.815-08:00It was extremely interesting for me to read this a...It was extremely interesting for me to read this article. I'm using it on my Olympus E500 digital camera. At first I wasn't too thrilled with the results, (handheld), but then invested in a tripod/monopod combo that I use all the time now. I've found that there seems to be a sweet spot, shooting somewhere between 25 to 50 feet, that it takes great photos.
I usually have to boost the contrast in Picasa to get better images.
A lot of the images here:
http://www.yoyozfotoz.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=17428
were shot with the lens.
At 1200mm effective length, it is sometimes a little too long. Looking at a 300mm f5.6 mirror lens - if the prices stays low, may experiment with that.
Thanks for your detailed review. I was initially just looking to see how much it weighed, because the head on my monopod is cracking.
SteveAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1391120870840685325.post-87124394905217550082008-03-27T14:41:00.000-07:002008-03-27T14:41:00.000-07:00Jacob: not sure what you mean.
